If you're on an employer plan, please talk to your benefits administrator before disenrolling or enrolling in anything.
You have to pay the full cost of your bills until what you've paid reaches the deductible.
Then the plan will help however it's designed to.
This is a percentage that you're responsible to pay for a service.
Example: after your deductible is met, Part B asks you to pay 20% co-insurance for all Part B medical costs, and they pick up the remaining 80% co-insurance.
This safety limit is the most you would ever have to pay out of pocket for the whole year in a worst case scenario.
