Founded in 1914, our mission is to advocate for public policies that foster a competitive insurance marketplace within a free enterprise system. Our advocacy efforts focus on legislative and regulatory engagement, including direct testimony during legislative sessions and collaboration with state agencies like the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

We provide resources such as the Insurance HelpLine, offering unbiased answers to consumer insurance questions. Our membership includes stock and mutual insurance companies writing auto, business, commercial, homeowners, reinsurance, renters, and workers' compensation policies.
